ServSafe Course and Exam Information

All Golden Corral Manager Candidates (or MITs) must complete the ServSafe online course and successfully pass the ServSafe exam provided by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF) as part of their training certification. The on-line course will take approximately 8 – 10 hours to complete. The course must be completed prior to taking the ServSafe exam. The ServSafe exam is administered by a registered ServSafe Proctor. In most cases, that will be the Training Manager, District Manager, or Franchise Business Consultant.  The minimum passing score for the exam is 70%.

If an MIT is already certified in ServSafe prior to starting the MIT program, he or she needs to provide the certification date to the Training Manager. If the exam date is older than two years from the MIT’s Training start date, they are required to complete the on-line course and retake the exam.

Contact the Golden Corral Training Department at GCTraining@goldencorral.net and request a ServSafe course code. Once the ServSafe course is complete, the ServSafe proctor should contact the Training Department to request a ServSafe exam code.

NOTE: Course codes are available employees in Golden Corral restaurants. We receive a discounted rate for the course and exam codes. Charges will go back to the franchisee for course and exam codes requested. (ServSafe course and exam codes are included in the CAM and MIT Toolkit cost.)
